Where the shoreline meets the street.

Surfurbia was founded by two architects who grew up along the coast but found themselves in the city.  

We curate products that hold lasting aesthetic and practical value — things that move as naturally from the surf to the street as we do.  We take pride in sharing the stories behind them—from their origins and materials to the designers and makers who bring them to life.

Our name, Surfurbia, reflects this philosophy.  It was coined by architectural critic Reyner Banham to describe the places where surf culture and city life collide, while also suggesting a spirit of discovery.  We hope our customers feel that sense of exploration when they browse our online store.
